He now has his own website where you can buy books directly from him.

His work is unmatched.

I really recommend:

Shotokan Karate:
A Precise History

An amazing book, some say it may be expensive, but it is worth every penny.

For more information please visit his site.

It should go without saying, but in light of the massive increase of spam and other misuse, I would like to accentuate that all posts which contain one or more of the following will rigorously be deleted:

links to any kind of scam, gambling, drugs or adult content
posts containing multiple commercial links without context
bad language, insulting and otherwise inappropriate or offensive material
copy&paste plagiarism (especially literal or nearly literal repetition of earlier posts).

Also, posts that are only meant to promote commercial links will be removed as well. In particular, forum spamming will no longer be tolerated and I will get rid of a great many of such posts in the near future. This forum is intended for Martial Arts discussions, not for quick bucks and/or to boost search engine rankings. The sub-forum "Best Services Known to Man" is exempted and may contain any legal commercial content within reason.

If you notice such posts, please inform me or another moderator/administrator. Although it is a sisyphean work, we will do what we can to keep this forum helpful, topical and clean.

clean and presses 2 x 8
squats 2 x 12
barbell pullovers 2 x 8
bench presses 2 x 6
good mornings 2 x 8

Unfortunately, he injured his back doing good mornings, which nearly ruined his career. Otherwise, his weight training was successful in that it is credited with helping him add 30 pounds of solid muscle to his relatively small frame.

A great way to prevent exercise related injuries is to make sure you stretch. It is important to make sure that when you are stretching, you do so properly.

Even if you are only focusing on one specific area that day, it is important to stretch your whole body. A 30 second stretch is not a smart way to go.

It is important to your body that you keep the same core stretch routine. If you are going to be doing a more intense workout, it is ok to do some more intense stretching as well.

If you find you are cramping in your workout, it is likely that you are dehydrated. Water will help rehydrate you as well as help with the cramp pain. One way to prevent this is to stretch properly before and after your workout.
