Lyoto Machida is a undefeated MMA fighter who currently fights in the UFC.
Lyoto is the son to Shotokan karate master Yoshizo Machida has also trained in sumo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is a great fighter to watch and uses many shotokan techniques in his fights including ashi barai (foot/leg sweep) and ushiro-geri (back kick). He has victories over many top fighters including B J Penn, Tito Ortiz and Rich Franklin.

He is due release a book on karate in MMA, im sure it will be a worthy purchase because it is published by Victory Belt, who produce top martial arts material.

Shotokan Karate's Lyoto "the dragon" Machida has won the the UFC light heavyweight championship.

“Karate is back,” Machida declared. “I tried all my life to be champion. I’m very, very, happy. Now, I want to keep this belt for a long time.”
